Mistfall Hunter Launch Issues and Practical Workarounds

Recognize documented launch problems involving Flameblade, Souls of Return, item splitting, controllers, gem slots, and General Harald without mistaking bugs for rules.

Check the official issue list before changing a build

Unexpected behavior can come from a rule, a requirement, an input problem, lag, or a known bug. The official launch notice documents several concrete issues. Compare your symptom with that list before consuming more items, replacing equipment, or rebuilding talents around behavior that may be temporary.

A workaround is not proof of intended mechanics. Record the platform, input method, area, item or skill, and steps that reproduce the problem. Re-test after each update and remove old advice when the official notice or current client changes.

Official launch known issues

Flameblade visuals and actual damage range

The official notice states that Flameblade's visual effect can be inconsistent with its damage range. Do not use the visible flame edge as a precise hitbox measurement, and do not publish a range formula from video frames alone. Position conservatively until a patch note confirms the mismatch is fixed.

When testing, use a repeatable stationary target and the same terrain, then separate animation reach from registered damage. A single hit or miss in live combat is not enough because movement, latency, and elevation can change the result.

Extra Soul consumption around the Soul Tree

The launch notice also records extra Soul of Return consumption around the Soul Tree. Check the number carried before interacting and again afterward. If more than expected disappears, stop repeating the action and preserve a screenshot or clip for a report.

Do not describe the extra consumption as an extraction cost or build it into a calculator. The documented bug takes priority over a pattern observed during the affected version. Verify the current official notice after a patch before assuming the workaround is still needed.

Split-item menus and controller equipment actions

A split-item action can fail in the menu, and controller users may be unable to equip gear or insert gems in some cases. If an item split fails, close the affected menu, confirm the stack remains intact, and retry without rapidly repeating the action. Avoid planning inventory capacity around a split that has not completed.

For controller equipment or gem failures, use mouse and keyboard for the affected menu when available, then verify the item or gem actually moved into the intended slot. This distinguishes a failed input path from a legal-slot rejection. Keep controller navigation advice separate from compatibility rules.

General Harald and blocking terrain

The official list notes that General Harald can occasionally be blocked by terrain. If the encounter enters an unreachable or non-progressing state, avoid treating the position as a strategy. Capture the location, disengage if the game allows it, and retry the encounter in a fresh state rather than spending all resources on an enemy that cannot resolve normally.

Community advice about pulling the boss to a specific obstruction can become exploit guidance or stop working after a fix. A durable guide describes the normal encounter and flags the documented blocker without teaching players to depend on it.

Report a reproducible case

Include the game version, platform, server region, input device, class, weapon, skill or item name, map and named area, exact steps, expected result, actual result, and whether it happens again. Remove account secrets and unrelated personal data from screenshots or logs.

After an update, repeat the shortest case first. If it no longer reproduces, retire the workaround. Guides that keep fixed bugs alive create new confusion and can cause players to make worse loadout or resource decisions than the original issue.
