Learn a weapon from its basic actions outward

Each Mistfall Hunter weapon has its own basic actions and a separate pool of weapon skills. This page keeps those two layers in the same order as the game: basic attacks first, then every published weapon skill for the selected weapon. Use it to understand what the weapon can do before committing equipment or entering the Gyldenmist.

How basic actions and weapon skills fit together

Basic skills define the weapon's repeatable combat language: light or heavy attacks, blocks, charged actions and follow-up attacks. Read these first, because many weapon-skill descriptions refer to states, resources or openings created by the basic chain.

Weapon skills are tied to a weapon family. A similarly named skill from another weapon is not automatically compatible. The archive therefore changes the complete basic and weapon-skill sets together whenever you switch the weapon tab.

Descriptions may name conditions such as charging, blocking, Wither or a follow-up input. Those are rules, not flavour text. Hover or keyboard-focus the icon and read the entire official description before judging the skill's role.

How to use this page

  1. Choose the weapon you will carry

Use the weapon tabs at the top. The page replaces both sections with the records shipped for that weapon instead of mixing class-wide skills together.

  2. Start with Basic Skills

Read the top row from left to right. Identify the normal attack, alternate action and any derived combo so you know which inputs and states are always available.

  3. Inspect every Weapon Skill

Hover an icon or reach it with the keyboard to open the game-style detail panel. Compare the action, requirements and named effects, not the icon or title alone.

  4. Draft the Q/E/C bar

Select a slot and choose a skill below, or focus a skill and press Q, E or C. Each weapon keeps its own saved bar on this device.

  5. Connect the kit to your build

After identifying the skills that solve your approach, pressure and survival needs, check the matching class, talents and equipment. Confirm the final equipped arrangement in the current game.

Example: find why a weapon feels unsafe after attacking

Select the weapon, read its basic chain, then inspect skills that mention blocking, movement, control or recovery. If every option you were considering only adds another committed attack, the missing answer may be a defensive or disengage tool rather than more damage. Continue in the talent and loadout tools to see which parts of that plan your build can support.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Skipping the basic actions and reading weapon skills without the states or follow-ups that enable them.
  • Assuming every skill associated with a class works with both weapon families available to that class.
  • Choosing by icon or damage wording without checking range, charge, resource and defensive conditions.
  • Ignoring talent effects that add or disable weapon-skill slots when finalizing the saved Q/E/C bar.
